Last night we had the pleasure of having dinner with Rick Lofgren, COTA President and CEO. I am not easily impressed but I can tell you the moment I laid eyes on this man and got my first hug I was beyond impressed...and yes...Rick you can tell your wife...You are a ROCK STAR! Having dinner with you is a bigger highlight then it would be to meet Madonna!
We have been blessed to have had COTA enter into our lives at a time where life had exploded into a million pieces....COTA is a group of unsung heros. They work to help families in the most devastating of times with the reality of fundraising because the cold hard fact is that an organ transplant is expensive even if you have insurance as we do. It can easily lead a family to bankruptcy.
So, last night Savvy picked out her dress so we could go and have a "pardee"! We met up for dinner and just had the loveliest of time with him...he is in town because we would be shooting a segment on Liftetime Channel's "The Balancing Act". How lucky were we to be able to spend time with him...my only regret is that we didn't get to spend a week with him.
We are so grateful to him and his entire staff who work tirelessly in helping our family and so many others.
This morning we headed out to do our "Diva" debut! Yup...green room and all! How cool! Who knew they keep champagne bottles in a green room??? (I got a diet coke...but it was cool to know ...if I had wanted champagne first thing in the morning...) and who knew green rooms aren't green? and who knew they have a make-up artist ready to make you all glam...just pretty nifty stuff!
How cool is this Diva treatment? Oh to have someone do my hair and make-up in the mornings...Now, that I know where the studios are I did threatened to show up in the morning and demand hair and make-up! (I'd bring coffee!)...but alas .... the real Diva was the WP doing twirls with her dress on the set!
I mean ... the reallllll DIVA was Super Papi!!!
Okay, I know...I know...I suck as a wife because no good loving wife would put up a picture of their amazing husband in the make-up chair..but look at me in the background just having a great time clicking away....I just had to post one...couldn't help myself!
Here we are with our Hostess, Kristy Villa. She is so nice...too nice...the moment we started to talk I could see her eyes well up with tears and then I lost it...yup...I was a crying, babbling who knows what but I hope I kept quiet long enough (I know super hard for me) for Super Papi to get the message out...organ donors save lives.
A heartfelt Thank You to Carl (Producer) and Kristy (Host) of the Balancing Act for your warm welcome and for allowing us to get the message out about COTA and organ donation.
